# How to upload a manual caption for a video

Use this path to add a caption that is already prepared to a video.

## Open the captions area

In the video editor, open **Legendas & áudio** and select **Legendas**. On a computer, this navigation appears in the sidebar; on a phone, it appears in a horizontal tab strip.

## Choose the file and language

In the **Upload manual** section, choose the file to send in **Arquivo de legenda**. SRT and VTT files are accepted.

In **Idioma**, choose the caption language. To identify the track with a different name, fill in **Rótulo personalizado (opcional)**.

## Add the caption

Select **Adicionar legenda** to send the file. This button becomes available when both a file and a language have been selected.
