# How to migrate your videos from Panda Video to Moviie

> Connect your Panda account once, bring the whole library over with your folders intact, and close the browser while the migration runs.

If your videos live on Panda Video, you do not need to download and re-upload anything by hand. You connect the account once and Moviie brings the whole library over, turning your folders into collections and keeping each video's title, description, cover, and subtitles.

The migration runs on Moviie's servers. Once you start it, you can close the extension, close the browser, and even shut down your computer.

## Before you start

You need three things:

the Moviie extension installed and connected to your account (how to install and connect);

owner or administrator access on the Panda account, so you can generate a key;

room on your plan. The extension shows the size of your Panda library before anything moves and warns you if it does not fit.

If you use Panda's watermark protection, **turn it off on the videos you are migrating**. Protected videos are not copied, and the extension names them before the migration starts. Turn the protection off, run the migration again, and they come across.

## Step 1: generate the access key on Panda

Sign in to the Panda Video dashboard.

Open **Settings** and go to the **Advanced** tab.

Select **Generate New API Key**.

Leave the key on screen. You will use it in the next step.

**This key grants full access to your Panda account.** Treat it like a password: do not share it, do not paste it into chats, and revoke it as soon as the migration finishes (step 7 shows how).

## Step 2: connect the Panda account

With the key still on screen, open the Moviie extension and choose to connect your Panda account.

Select **Fill from the key open on Panda** and allow page access when Brave asks. The extension copies the key visible on the page into the field; check it and confirm. If you prefer not to grant that permission, paste the key manually. Nothing is sent before you confirm.

If the connection succeeds, the extension immediately shows how many videos and how many folders the account holds. If the key is rejected, generate a new one on Panda and try again: older keys may have been revoked.

## Step 3: choose what to migrate

You have two paths:

**Migrate everything**: one click brings the entire library. This is the recommended path if you are moving house.

**Pick what comes**: select specific folders or videos. Useful when Panda also holds drafts, old launches, or client work that does not belong in the new library.

Each Panda folder becomes a Moviie collection with the same name. Videos sitting loose, outside any folder, go to your default collection.

Before starting, you confirm that you own the content or are authorized to move it.

## Step 4: follow the migration

The extension shows progress: how many videos have arrived, how many are in flight, and how many are left.

From here the work is ours. You can close the panel and the browser. You can also follow along in your Moviie library, where videos appear as they land.

Large libraries take longer, and the time depends on total size rather than on the number of videos.

## Step 5: check the result

When it finishes, open the migration summary. It lists:

how many videos arrived and in which collections;

which ones did not arrive and why, in plain language;

which ones were left out because Panda's protection was switched on for them.

If an item failed for a temporary reason, you can retry just the failed ones without running the whole library again.

It is worth opening two or three videos and checking playback end to end, the cover, and the subtitles before you swap the links on your site or members area.

## Step 6: point your site at Moviie

Migrating the videos does not change the players already sitting on your site or in your members area. They keep pointing at Panda until you change the address.

You do not have to edit lesson by lesson. Moviie answers to the same identifier Panda uses, so one find-and-replace on your platform is enough:

Run the replacement and every lesson starts playing from Moviie at once. You don't have to assemble that address yourself: when the migration finishes, the extension shows both lines already filled in with your Panda code and your account identifier, ready to copy.

The switch is reversible: undo the replacement and everything plays from Panda again. Nothing is ever deleted or changed in your Panda account.

If your platform has no bulk replace, the extension exports a spreadsheet pairing each video's identifier with its Moviie address, so you can work through the list.

Switch one lesson first, confirm it plays, and only then do the rest.

## Step 7: revoke the key on Panda

With your site already playing from Moviie, go back to **Settings** and **Advanced** on Panda and revoke the key you generated.

The connection to Moviie stops working, and that is exactly what you want: until you migrate again, nobody needs access to your Panda account.

If you later want to bring new videos over, generate another key and connect again. Videos already migrated are not duplicated: a new migration brings only what has not come across yet.

## What comes with you and what stays on Panda

**Comes with you:**

the video, at the same quality it was delivered at on Panda;

title, description, and cover;

subtitles;

your folder structure, turned into collections.

**Stays on Panda:**

view history, retention, and other audience data (on Moviie the count starts from zero);

playlists, funnels, and A/B tests, which have no Moviie equivalent;

player settings, watermark rules, and allowed-domain lists. You configure Moviie's equivalents in your settings.

The migration only reads your library and exports your own videos. Nothing is deleted, edited, or reorganized in your Panda account.

## If something does not work

Key rejected, empty library, or videos that do not show up: see how to troubleshoot the extension.

Videos listed as "not ready yet" are still being processed on Panda itself. Wait for Panda to finish and run the migration again: they are picked up on the next pass.
