If the important part of your video starts after an introduction, you can set a start point. The player then begins playback at the chosen second, without editing the file or making another version.

## Where to find it

Open the video in your library and select **Controles** in the edit navigation, under **Vídeo**. On desktop, tabs are on the left; on mobile, slide the tab bar until you reach **Controles**. Scroll down to **Tempo Inicial (segundos)**.

## Choose the starting point

Watch the video and note the second where it should start. For example, to start at 1 minute 30 seconds, enter `90`.

In **Tempo Inicial (segundos)**, enter that number. Use `0` to start at the beginning.

Select **Salvar alterações**.

The value is in whole seconds. Play the video first to make sure it begins with a sentence or scene that makes sense to a first-time viewer.

## When to use it

Use a start point to take viewers directly to a demonstration, instruction, or specific message. Before using it, consider whether the earlier part provides needed context. Viewers can still use the controls available in the player according to your settings.

## Check the experience

Open the video’s public page or embed and reload it. Confirm that playback starts at the expected point. To change it again, return to **Controles**, update **Tempo Inicial (segundos)**, and save; to restore the normal start, enter `0`.
