You can set the speed at which a video starts and the speeds viewers can choose while watching. This helps you adapt the player for content that needs more time, such as a class, or for short messages that need a specific pace.

## Where to find it

Open the video and select **Controles** in the **Vídeo** edit-navigation group. On desktop, the navigation is on the left; on mobile, slide the tabs until you reach **Controles**. Scroll to **Velocidade inicial** and **Velocidades disponíveis**.

## Set the starting speed

Under **Velocidade inicial**, choose the speed the player will use when the video begins. Select **Salvar alterações** at the bottom of the page to apply the change.

Before choosing a speed above `1x`, watch the beginning of the video with that setting. Speech, demonstrations, and on-screen text can become harder to follow at a faster pace.

## Choose options for viewers

Under **Velocidades disponíveis**, select the speeds you want to make available. Selected options appear highlighted. To remove a video-specific selection and return to the organization’s set, use **Voltar a herdar da organização** when it appears.

For viewers to use these options, keep **Velocidade** enabled in the controls area. After saving, reload the page or video embed and check the playback menu.
