How to use the VSL Engine

The VSL Engine follows a VSL from its structural analysis through traffic distribution between safe versions of the same video. Its goal is to learn from approved purchases without requiring you to adjust percentages manually.

Before you start

Connect your checkout and confirm that purchases appear under Sales with attribution. The engine does not choose a version from views or clicks alone: it must know which viewing session led to an approved purchase.

Open VSL Engine, choose a processed VSL, and select Start in shadow. In this mode, Moviie prepares and records decisions without increasing traffic to a new version before it is ready.

Understand the analysis

The score from 0 to 100 shows whether important elements are clear and identifiable in the video. It considers elements such as the promise, problem, mechanism, proof, offer, and call to action.

The score measures structural readiness. It does not predict revenue and does not replace the performance observed after the VSL starts receiving traffic.

Use the displayed opportunities to understand where improvements may matter most. When enough evidence is available, you will also see the matching point in the video and the score change from the previous analysis.

Check the player configuration

Under Automatic player configuration, review the applied value and the reason for each setting. Settings changed manually appear as protected and are not replaced by the engine.

Pitch and call-to-action times only appear when those moments were clearly identified in the video. If the analysis does not have enough evidence, Moviie does not invent a time.

Review a version when requested

Early versions use only segments already present in your VSL. Moviie may remove, shorten, or reorder segments, but it does not create a new promise, testimonial, price, or guarantee.

When a version displays Human review required, watch the entire video. Check the picture, audio, transitions, offer, call to action, and required information. Record what you reviewed, then select Approve for testing.

A version can only receive traffic after it appears as Ready for testing.

Follow the decisions

When sales tracking is healthy, the engine decides how much traffic each version receives. The original VSL remains the reference and can receive all traffic whenever evidence is limited or a risk is detected.

A session without a purchase is not treated as a loss immediately. Moviie waits for the normal time between viewing and purchasing and pauses learning whenever sales attribution is unreliable.

The primary result is an Approved purchase. Refunds appear as a post-purchase diagnostic, but they do not erase the fact that the VSL made the sale.

Pause or finish

Use Archive program when you no longer want to continue that cycle. The program stops distributing traffic, while its history remains available to review.

If a safety protection is triggered, new sessions return to the original VSL. Previous purchases and decisions remain preserved.

If the data does not progress

Check whether:

• the checkout is connected and sending approved purchases;
• the VSL and embed belong to the same organization;
• the version completed the requested review;
• the dashboard reports healthy sales tracking;
• enough time and volume have accumulated to assess purchases.

If the dashboard still reports a problem, keep the original VSL active and contact support before starting a new cycle.
