How to restrict where a video can be embedded

Set the domains that can embed a video and block direct URL access when needed.

Updated on July 30, 20262 min read

Use domain controls when you want to decide which websites can play an embedded video. You can follow your organization’s rules or create a rule for one video only.

Where to find it

Open the video you want to protect and select Segurança in the Distribuição & dados group in the editor navigation. On desktop, the navigation is in the sidebar; on mobile, it appears as a horizontal tab strip.

Use your organization’s rules

By default, a video uses your organization’s Padrões › Segurança settings. While Usando padrão da organização is enabled, the video’s lists are view-only.

To create an exception for this video, turn off Usar padrão da organização. The page will show Override específico deste vídeo: your changes will affect this video only.

Allow only your websites

In Controle de acesso por domínio, add addresses under Domínios permitidos. You can enter a domain such as example.com, or use a subdomain wildcard such as *.example.com.

Leave the list empty if you do not want to limit embeds through this list. In that case, every domain remains allowed except those on the block list.

Block a specific domain

Add an address under Lista de bloqueio when you want to prevent that website from embedding the video. The block list takes priority over the allowed-domain list. If the same domain appears in both lists, it is blocked.

Block direct URL access

Enable Bloquear acesso direto via URL to allow playback only when the video is embedded on authorized websites. This is useful when you do not want someone to open the player URL directly in a browser.

Before sharing

Test the page where the video is embedded after changing the rules. If you created a video-specific rule, make sure Usar padrão da organização is still off; enabling it again returns the video to your organization’s rules.
