How to configure video resume

Choose whether the player asks, resumes automatically, or starts from the beginning when someone returns to your video.

Video resume stores where a person stopped and defines what happens when they open the same video again. The setting applies only to the selected video.

Find the setting

Open the video you want to edit and use one of these paths:

for a regular video, select Controles and find Quando o espectador voltar;
for a VSL, select VSL and find Quando o lead voltar.

The player preview reflects your selection before you save it.

Choose the return behavior

Select one of these options:

Option	What the viewer sees when returning	Recommended use
Perguntar se deseja continuar	A screen with the saved time and buttons to continue or start over	Lessons, training, and long videos
Retomar automaticamente	The video returns directly to the saved point	Content where continuity should be immediate
Não salvar o progresso	The video always starts from the beginning	Openings, bumpers, or content that must be watched from the start

Videos created before this setting keep Retomar automaticamente as their default. Their published experience does not change until you choose a different behavior.

Save your selection

In Controles, select Salvar alterações. In the VSL tab, select Salvar configurações.

If you select Resetar in the controls area, the video returns to the organization default and removes its video-specific behavior.

Test video resume

Open the embedded video on a test page.
Start playback or interact with the player.
Watch for more than five seconds.
Close the page or switch tabs.
Open the same video again in the same browser.

If Perguntar se deseja continuar is active, the return screen appears before playback. Choose an action and confirm that the video either continues at the expected point or starts over.

Understand when progress is saved

The player creates a saved point only after a real interaction. Opening a page with autoplay and leaving without interacting does not record progress.

The saved point is updated during playback and when the viewer pauses, seeks, hides the tab, or closes the page. Points in the first few seconds and points near the end are discarded because they are not useful for resuming.

When a link opens the video at a specific time, that time takes priority over older progress.

Understand local progress limits

The saved point stays in the browser for up to 90 days. It contains the position, video duration, and control dates, without the viewer's name or email address.

Because it is local, progress:

does not follow the viewer to another device or browser;
can disappear when site data is cleared;
may not be saved in private browsing or when storage is blocked;
must not be used as attendance or proof of completion.

If the browser blocks storage, the video continues to work normally.

Troubleshoot common situations

Situation	What to check
The return screen did not appear	Confirm that Perguntar se deseja continuar was saved and that the viewer interacted for more than five seconds
The video started from the beginning	Check whether the point was very close to the start or end and whether browser data was cleared
Progress did not appear on another device	This is expected because the point belongs to the browser used for viewing
The video opened at a different time	Check whether the link contains a specific time, which takes priority over saved progress
